Scripture of the week:

Matthew 5:3
"Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Thoughts on an Action Plan:
1) Think and research out what the term "poor in spirit" means. If anyone can enlighten us on the meaning, it will be very much welcomed.
2) Read all I can about this verse.
3) Pray to become poor in spirit.
4) Blog about any findings or experiences this week regarding being poor in spirit.

What are your your action plans to incorporate the scripture of the week?- let us know.....
The purpose of this blog is to put up 1 scripture each week. Then instead of trying to just read, we as a group will try and actually live it and incorporate it into our lives until we master it. The reason I made this blog is I actually haven't made a lot of room for God in my life, nor have I been very good at implementing the scriptures into my life. I would like to start, and have a way that others can as well. I have just come to a point in life where I realize I haven't made room in the inn for God, and I want to change. This is the best way I could think of doing it, and making it have meaning.

I am a Mormon by faith, and I have been away from the LDS church for 12 years living somewhat without religion and as a believing Christian. I am now attending the LDS church again with my family, and am struggling to focus on Christ's teachings. To keep focused, I thought I would start a blog. If you aren't LDS it doesn't matter- we will be primarily focused on the direct words of Jesus Christ and simply attempt to build upon a rock by trying to implement them, if even in a small way. We are all children of God, and as such can all benefit by reading and implementing scripture in our lives regardless of what religion we might be.

This blog is for anyone, and not a particluar religion. However, from time to time, the words of God may also be put on the blog from other LDS scripture such as the Book of Mormon. I would like to primarily focus on this blog to be scriptures that come directly from Jesus Christ himself. If you have a suggestion for a weekly scripture, please let me know. I would love to hear any experiences, advice or insight you have on trying to implement these scriptures, so post often. Please feel free to post on your experiences on implmenting the scripture for the week.

Matthew 7:24-27 "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock."

James 1:22
"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only"
