Scripture of the Week:
Matthew 5:5 "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. "
Possible Thoughts of Action:
1) Find out what meek means.
2) Find out what the meaning of "inherit the earth" is.
3) Talk to a few people about what they feel this means.
4) Look around me for examples of people that are meek.
5) Pray to understand.

I just finished reading up on the meaning of being meek and inheriting the earth. There is an excellent article that I believe has some great thoughts, quotes and a much better job than I could ever do. It is definitely worth a read.

Webster states meekness is: "enduring injury with patience and without resentment"
Meekness as one person put it is not a flaw in character, in fact the greatest character on this earth, the savior Jesus Christ is our example of being meek. He endured injury and pain without resentment, in the most selfless way possible.
I love the Matthew Henry example of Meek, "meekness is the opposite of self-will toward God and ill-will toward others."
Some thoughts out of my reading that hit me. Where do we find a great example of meek in scripture. Job is that example. Here is a man that lost everything, received all kinds of plagues and praised god without ceasing.
"The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the name of the Lord… .Though he slay me, I will hope in him" (Job 1:21; 13:15).
By the way I am going to read Psalm 37. Almost all stories, and examples I have found about being meek and inheritence of the earth are explained there.
I will report any findings or insights, and I invite anyone else to do the same.
